Education Conference for
Bengali-Speaking Parents
The United Federation of Teachers (UFT) is offering  free workshops
in Bengali for parents on Saturday March 6, 2010 in Rego Park,
Queens.  Workshop topics include: "Understanding the NYC School
System", which investigates parents rights, responsibilities, and more
and "What is Your Child Learning in School? " which will focus on
curriculum, standardized testing, and other academic information.   
Honorable Shamsul Haque, Consul General of Bangladesh in New
York will be the special guest speaker at this event.

These workshops will take place  at the Queens UFT office located  
at 97-77 Queens Boulevard , between 64th Road and 65th Avenue in
Rego Park form 12:00 PM to 4:30 PM.  This location is easily reached
by the Q60 bus on Queens Boulevard, or the V or R subway  to the
63rd Drive stop.  Lunch, and childcare for all school-aged children,
will be provided .

Family Resource Days
The New York City Child Care Resource and Referral Consortium  is
sponsoring Family Resource Days throughout the five boroughs.
These are free events at which you will be able to meet with
representatives of a variety of summer , enrichment, and child care
programs, as well as to learn about other community resources that
may be available to you.  

The Queens Resource Day  will be held on Saturday March 27th at
LaGuardia Community College located at 31-10 Thomson Avenue.  It
will take place from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Poolside Cafe at
